PEACEFUL [ELEGANCE]
Everything in the [BEDROOM] should contribute to peace. The bedroom is a place for rest + relaxation + should be a retreat where you can go to rejuvenate your body + soul after a long, hectic day.
.
[STYLE TIP]: Add textural interest — select colors + materials that will coordinate with your space but also add a new visual element while still keeping the look streamlined.
.

.

[STYLE TIP]: Personalize your space — use boxes + baskets with lids for jewelry + small items of clothing.

.
[STYLE TIP]: Lights off — instead of table lamps try placing a floor lamp next to your bed. It will add tons of character to your bedroom + is a great way to optimize space in an otherwise small room.

Off topic a bit, but I am trying to complete a new bedroom for a client and have been challenged to find a very light weight bed covering for an extra long twin bed (its an adjustable bed for a senior). I want white and something that will be simple but great quality. It should go with Arts and Crafts look furnishings. Any ideas?
Joanne, I’m a huge fan of using layers in the bedroom to create luxurious comfort for sleeping + visual warmth to a room. How do you feel about using a lightweight quilt in white? Quilts have a timeless appeal + you’re sure to find dozens of stiched patterns that refelct the Arts + Crafts Style of the room. Add a nubby knit blanket in a complementary color to add both optional warmth + style.
Thanks for your comment. Through internet searching, my client found a Lilly Pulitzer matelasse in white which we will pair with shams. Its a bit longer than some twin coverlets. In a way, its like your idea because we are not going to worry about the length so much but rely on sheets and shams to layer.
